This Privacy Policy applies to Bible's Light, including our mobile app, website, and related services operated by Appleton Technologies Inc. When we say "Bible's Light," "we," "us," or "our," we mean Appleton Technologies Inc.
We collect information only as needed to provide the app, keep your account working across devices, process optional subscriptions, run community prayer features, improve reliability, and respond to support requests.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account or sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we may receive your email address, display name, provider identifier, and authentication status.
- Profile and preference information. We may store app preferences such as onboarding responses, favorite Bible translation, avatar choices, reminder preferences, saved items, reading progress, listening progress, and similar settings.
- Content you create. If you use prayers, journal entries, chat, community prayer, comments, reactions, or other interactive features, we process the content you enter so the app can provide those features.
- Community prayer information. Prayer requests or blessings that you choose to publish may be visible to other users for the duration and format shown in the app.
- Subscription information. If you purchase a paid feature, payment is handled by Apple, Google, or our subscription provider. We may receive purchase status, entitlement status, renewal status, and related identifiers, but we do not receive full payment card numbers.
- Device, usage, and diagnostic information. We may receive technical information such as device type, app version, operating system, crash reports, performance logs, and approximate usage events needed to secure, debug, and improve the service.
- Support communications. If you contact us, we may collect your email address and the information you include in your message.
How we use information
- To create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
- To sync your saved content, preferences, progress, and settings.
- To provide prayer, Bible reading, audio, chat, journal, and community features.
- To generate or support AI-assisted prayer and chat responses when you choose to use those features.
- To process subscriptions, verify entitlements, and provide paid features.
- To protect the app, prevent misuse, moderate public community content, and enforce service limits.
- To respond to support requests and communicate important service updates.
- To improve app reliability, fix bugs, and understand which features are working well.
AI-assisted features
Bible's Light may offer AI-assisted prayer, reflection, or chat features. When you use those features, the text you submit may be processed by our systems and trusted service providers in order to generate a response, moderate unsafe content, and maintain the safety and reliability of the app.
Please do not submit highly sensitive personal information, emergency information, passwords, financial details, or private information about other people into AI-assisted features. Bible's Light is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, emergency, or pastoral care.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and support legitimate business needs. Some local app data may remain on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
Public or community content may be retained for moderation, safety, audit, backup, or legal purposes even after it is no longer visible in the main app experience.
Your choices
- You can use some app features locally or as a guest when available.
- You can choose what prayer, journal, chat, and community content you enter.
- You can manage app permissions such as notifications in your device settings.
- You can manage subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play settings.
- You can request access, correction, or deletion of account-related information by contacting us.
Children's privacy
Bible's Light is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International users
Bible's Light is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or on the website.
